Two Israeli Cabinet members said it was time for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to break the impasse in the Middle East peace process. In separate statements, Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai and the country’s trade minister, Natan Sharansky, said Netanyahu must decide in the coming days on an American plan under which Israel would withdraw from a further 13 percent of the West Bank.
