Two Jewish autonomous districts will be established in Soviet Russia in the course of the next two years, according to a report of the Moscow Yiddish Communist daily, “Der Emes”.
One autonomous Jewish district will amalgamate the old colonies in the Ukraine and a part of the settlements created by the Agrojoint, the agency of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The second district will supplement the one founded by the Ozet, the governmental department for settling Jews on the land.
Rabbi Albert N. Mandelbaum of Albany, N. Y., was installed as Rabbi of Knesseth Israel Congregation, Louisville, Ky., on Sunday. The Knesseth Israel was formed by the amalgamation of the two congregations, Bual Jacob and Beth Medrosh Hagodol.
Rabbi Saul Silber of Chicago was the principal speaker at the installation exercises.
