Two Jews were arrested this weekend in Casablanca, in connection with the distribution of pamphlets urging Jews to claim their rights and liberties, and appealing to Jews to memorialize the 43 Moroccan Jews who drowned off the Moroccan coast, it was reported here today. It is expected that the two men will probably be released by the police within the next few days.

M. Khalfon, the caretaker of the Casablanca Jewish cemetery who was arrested last week while traveling from Tangiers to Rabat, was released today after 48 hours of detention, through the intervention of Max Loeub, town councilor. His home in Casablanca was thoroughly searched by police at the time of his arrest. M. Khalfon said he was not subjected to torture while in prison.
