The Polish Supreme Court, after hearing complaints of irregularities in elections, has cancelled the parliamentary elections held in March, 1928 in the province of Volhynia, thereby annulling the mandates of Deputy Wislicki and Senator Lazar Dal, two of the three Jewish candidates who were returned in the general election on the government ticket. Deputy Kirschbraun is now the only Jewish member of the government bloc in parliament.
It is expected that Wislicki and Dal will present their candidacies again in the new elections which will take place within three months. Twenty-two complaints of election irregularities were made altogether, and in three cases, including those of the two Jewish deputies, the election results were cancelled. The third parliament member, a leader of the government party, whose election was invalidated, was Prince Radziwill, the leader of the Polish aristocracy, president of the Sejm Committee on Foreign Affairs.
