Two men believed to be Palestinians were wounded today when they shot at Dutch police who tried to check their papers. The two men, who were carrying Israeli passports believed to be forged, are under arrest. A Dutch police inspector was also slightly wounded during the shoot-out which took place in broad daylight in central Amsterdam. After a wild chase through the city’s streets, the two men who had opened fire were arrested. Police think the shoot-out is linked to the anti-Israeli demonstration scheduled for tonight and sponsored by the Dutch Palestine Committee. The demonstration is to mark Israel’s 25th anniversary.
