Two now rehabilitation centers for displaced Jews have been opened in Bavaria, it was announced here today. One is at Passau and the other in the Alpine town of Bayrisch Cuain, near Bad Reichenhall.
DP’s convalescing from tuberculosis will spend from six months to a year recuperating from the ravages of the disease and learning new skills. All expenses of the convalescent centers will be met by the Joint Distribution Committee. The Jewish Agency and the ORT will cooperate with the J.D.C. in training the hundreds of convalescent students. Among the courses to be offered will be mechanics, radio and telegraphy, leather manufacturing and clothing manufacturing.
