An Egyptian intelligence agent, Ahmed el Zahabi, was sentenced yesterday to 20 years imprisonment by the Jerusalem District Court, according to a report from Jerusalem received here.
El Zahabi had been found guilty of several illegal crossings into the Gaza Strip where he transmitted military information to the Egyptian authorities. The court sentenced an accomplice of el Zahabi to a ten-year term for similar espionage activities,
Arab espionage activities in Israel have been intensified during the last few weeks.
