Two youths were under arrest today on charges of shooting at a theater featuring a Jewish play in the first such police action since a wave of anti-Semitic incidents broke out in Argentina this spring.
Police had seized three suspects but the third youth was released last night, the police apparently accepting his defense that his participation was an “anti-Communist,” and not an anti-Semitic action. The three are 19 and under. They denied they had any part in the wave of anti-Semitic incidents in Buenos Aires or that they were members of the neo-Nazi youth organization Tacuara. Harrigue Castex was the youth who was released. Luis Noettinger and Julio Crotto were those held. They were arrested in a station wagon as they were firing a machinegun at a Jewish-owned tourist agency.
