American Jewry today expressed its gratitude to the Italians who remained friends of the Jews throughout the Fascist-Nazi oppression in a ceremony at the Foreign Ministry here when a United Jewish Appeal delegation handed to Under-Secretary Giuseppe Brusasca a scroll stating that the ”Italians’ unparalleled heroism in protecting refugees, a manifold act of compassion end helpfulness, will remain forever a monument of the great heart of the Italian people.”

The 36 hours stay of the delegation, which is engaged in a three-week survey of conditions of Jewish refugees in Europe and Israel, included a visit to United States Ambassador James C. Dunn. The delegation members thanked Mr. Dunn for his cooperation and assistance.
