Jewish leaders from 12 Midwest states will begin a three-day conference here tomorrow to inaugurate the 25th consecutive annual campaign in this region of the United Jewish Appeal. Albert B. Adelman, of Milwaukee, is general chairman of the conference-the U.J.A. Midwest Leadership Institute-which will be attended by 600 men and women from Illinios, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Those who will report on overseas developments will include: Joseph Meyerhoff, UJA general chairman; Dr. Avram Biran of Jerusalem, director of Israel’s Department of Archaeology; Rabbi Herbert A. Friedman, UJA executive vice-chairman; Mrs. I.D. Fink, chairman of the UJA national Women’s Division; Gottlieb Hammer, executive vice-chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Inc., and Henry Levy, director of Latin American operations for the Joint Distribution Committee.
