As far as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Arab Refugees is concerned–Israel is not a member of the United Nations. That was learned today when reports were received of occurrences in Arab refugee camps three weeks ago.
Just before October 24, United Nations Day, UNRWA had distributed UN posters in all refugee camps. The posters showed the flags of all UN member states, including, of course, the flag of Israel. Jordan protested to UNRWA against inclusion of the Israel flag. Whereupon, according to facts reported here, UNRWA–a UN agency–sent around men to all camps to erase from the posters the flag of one member state, Israel.
