Another resolution condemning Israel was adopted here Friday at a meeting of the United Nations Human Right Commission.
This resolution, adopted by 30 member nations, condemned Israel for alleged ongoing violations of human rights in southern Lebanon.
The resolution specifically chided Israel for expelling Lebanese villagers from their homes in the border security zone. It asked that Israel stop the “arbitrary” procedure and withdraw from all Lebanese territory.
Only the United States voted against the resolution. There were 12 abstentions. Israel is not a voting member of the commission, but is allowed to observe its proceedings.
