The younger generation throughout the world still needs “to fight against hardened prejudices, especially against anti-Semitism, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization declared here today, in a study called “Texts and Documents on Anti-Semitism.”
The study includes documents assembled by two French teachers, Genevieve Legrand, of the Lycee at Cannes, and F. G. Dreyfus, of the National Council of Scientific Research at Strasbourg. It also includes a summary of the history of the Jewish people from the time of their captivity in Egypt to the Nazi attempts to annihilate the Jewish people during World War II.
In addition, the work includes information on the dispersion of the Jewish people throughout the world, on the practices of the Jewish religion, the views of some great authors on the problems of anti-Semitism, and a quotation from “The Jewish State” by the late Dr. Theodor Harzl. It also provides a bibliography, and suggestions to teachers on the best ways of treating the subject of anti-Semitism in the classrooms.
