U.N. Body Recommends International Office for Messing Persons Death Certificates

The establishment of an international office for death declarations is recommended in a draft convention adopted this seek by a special U.N. Economic and Social Council subcommittee set up to handle the matter of death certificates for persons missing as a result of the war and religious, racial, and national persecution, it was revealed here today by U.N. headquarters.

The convention the adoption of which closed the meting of the body in Geneva, provides that the issuance of such death declarations shall be limited to Europe, Asia and Africa. It also sets up a system of courts which, upon application of next of kin of a missing person, may issue a legally recognized. death certificate.
