The United Nations Economic and Social Council today called on its Commission on Human Rights to draft a system whereby victims of violations of fundamental rights may petition the U.N. for redress. The Council asked the Commission to give top priority to this problem and to draft a convention to legally bind nations which voted for the Declaration of Human Rights at the last General Assembly session in Paris to carry out its provisions.
