The U.N. Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee yesterday passed a compromise draft resolution urging member states to facilitate the repatriation of DP’s and to open their doors to a “fair share” of ##repatriable refugees and DP’s.Just prior to adoption of the draft measure, the committee turned down two Iraq-sponsored amendments aimed at interfering with the immigration of Jews to Palestine. The amendments provided that movement of DP’s must be preceded by consultations between recipient states and the immigrants’ countries of origin, and would are barred the transfer of DP’s to non-self-governing territories against the will ## the majority of the inhabitants of the territories.
