The U.N. Social Committee adopted today a British proposal to convene an international conference for final establishment of signature for a convention on the status of refugees and a protocol on the status of stteless persons.
The calling of the conference allows for the participation of non-U.N. members. The resolution calls on the future U.N. High commissioner for refugees to participate in the work of the conference. It was not decided where or when the conference would be held.
