The conference here of representatives of United Nations members considering a convention on the status of refugees has adopted a number of specific duties and rights of refugees which will be included in the proposed document.
Among the duties of a refugee, the parley agreed, shall be that of conforming to the laws, regulations and measures adopted for the maintenance of public order of the country in which he finds refuge. The contracting parties to the convention will have to pledge themselves to apply the provisions of the document to all refugees without discrimination as to race, religion or country of origin, according to another article adopted by the conference. Also, the contracting parties will pledge to cooperate with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and to furnish specific reports concerning various aspects of the refugee problem.
