Ambassador Francisco Urrutia of Colombia left the United States last night for his mission in the Middle East where he will serve as personal representative of United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold in negotiations with Israel and Jordan. The objective of his talks will be to seek full implementation of the July 7, 1948 agreement for the demilitarization of the Mount Scopus area.
United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold may visit Jordan and Israel in connection with his visit to Egypt at the end of this week Mr. Hammarskjold will introduce Dr Urrutia, his personal representative on the Mt. Scopus dispute between Israel and Jordan to the parties.
