The United Nations has cancelled “at this time” any release of a film entitled “Blue Vanguard, “made to depict the creation and operation of the United Nations Emergency Force along the Israel-Egyptian frontiers. The cancellation was ordered by topmost officials of the UN after the film was viewed by Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold.
High officials of the UN said today that showing of this film would “no be in the interests of the United Nations information policy.” There were reports here–unconfirmed by UN officials–that the film had been scheduled for showing, last summer, at the Berlin Film Festival, but had been taken off the schedule after protests by Britain, France and Israel.
