The 18th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights opened here today with the question of discrimination against religious rights and practices on its agenda. The 21-member commission is scheduled to continue its session on April 13.
The principles concerning religious rights and practices were adopted two years ago by the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities. Since the Subcommission’s action, the full commission has obtained comments on the draft from member governments of the United Nations.
