U.N. Palestine mediator Count Folke Bernadotte tends to ask the U.N. General Assembly, which opens next month in Paris, that it officially recognize the existence of Israel as an independent state, it was learned today from sources close to the mediator who is now attending an International Red cross parley here.
It was also learned that Count Bernadotte intends to bring new peace proposals or Palestine before the General Assembly, Prior to submitting these proposals, he will discuss them with the leaders of Israel and of the Arab states.
