U.N. Secretary-general Instructed to Draft Convention Outlawing Genocide

The U.N. Social and Economic Council has instructed the Secretary-General to undertake studies on genocide and to prepare a draft convention to outlaw it, to be presented to the next session of the Council.

The Secretary-General was also instructed to make the studies in consultation with a number of U.N. bodies and refer it to the member states for comment before forwarding it to the Council.
