Reliable sources here said today that it was not likely that the United Nations Security Council would take any action on a Syrian protest against alleged armistice violations by Israel, until after U.N. officials on the spot had exhausted efforts at a solution of the dispute.
The Syrian complaint was received yesterday by the Security Council. It charged Israel with violations in the demilitarized zone between Syria and Israel by initiating draining projects on Lake Huleh. No meeting of the Security Council, which has just completed a series of sessions on Kashmir, is scheduled.
