The United States Government was urged this week-end by a Senate subcommittee to encourage Israeli medical assistance to underdeveloped areas.
Chairman Hubert H. Humphrey, of a Senate subcommittee on international health study, lauded Israel as “a beacon of inspiration” for many emerging Asian and African nations. He said it was “to the definite interest of the U.S. Government to give maximum encouragement to Israel to serve as a greatly expanded center for education and training of foreign physicians, nurses, dentists, therapists and others.”
