A warm tribute to the Jewish community in the United States was paid here last night by Winthrop Aldrich, Washington’s Ambassador to Britain. Mr. Aldrich attended a reception held in honor of Rabbi Eliezer Silver, chairman of the Union of American Orthodox Rabbis.
“The Jewish community in America,” said Mr. Aldrich, “is renowned for its great generosity. It has borne more than its share on all fields of American civic and charitable life. I gladly welcome, therefore, the efforts of the eminent rabbinical leader of American Jewry, Rabbi Silver, in the cause of Jewish religious education.”
