Walworth Barbour, United States Ambassador to Israel, conferred here for more than an hour today with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. Although American Embassy officials said that the conference had been scheduled a week ago, it was understood that the talks concerned the possible Middle East repercussions arising out of the latest developments in the crisis over Soviet missile bases in Cuba.

Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim expressed anxiety today over the world crisis. He indicated that he would issue a call to Jewish communities throughout the world to proclaim a day of fasting and prayer if there were any further deterioration in the critical world situation.
