James T. Ramey, a member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, began talks here today with members of Israel’s AEC on the joint construction of an atomic energy plant for the desalination of water. The project, first announced by President Johnson in 1964, has been approved in principle, and discussion of various technical and economic details have been going on in the U.S. and Israel. Prof. Ramey, who heads a delegation enroute to India and Iran, stopped here last night for meetings with Prime Minister Eshkol and members of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission.
