Charging that Britain and the United States are trying to solve the Palestine problem behind the back of the United Nations, Viktor Lutsky, Soviet lecturer, said yesterday in Moscow that “the Palestine problem cannot be solved by imperialistic methods.”
During a lecture on Palestine, which was quoted today by the Moscow radio, Lutsky is reported to have said that Arabs and Jews should be allowed to solve their problems independently, without the interference of foreign influences. He stated that “British imperialists” were inflaming the national enmity between the two peoples.
The British and American Governments, the lecturer asserted, “aim at retaining the British Mandate over Palestine and through further aggravation of the international foot to strengthen the position of British and American capital in the Arab countries.” He said that the United States was interested in Palestine because of the oil resources of the Middle East countries.
