The State Department made known today that the United States High Commissioner in Germany signed two laws, both effective January 1, which will extend the jurisdiction of German courts over persons in Germany, including Jews, who are not United States personnel or dependents.
The new laws had been under study for several months and “are the latest in a series of steps taken since 1951 with the aim of eventually inactivating the HICOG courts,” the announcement said.
