The Jewish National Council of Palestine today handed to the American Consul-General and to other diplomatic representatives of the Allied Governments in Palestine copies of the Jewish petition asking for speedy measures to save Jews in Europe from extermination.

The petition, it was reported here today, was signed by approximately 350,000 Jewish men and women throughout the country, comprising about eighty percent of the Yishuv. In addition all Jewish school children in Palestine signed a similar petition addressed to the children of the democratic countries. Many non Jewish officers and men of the Allied forces now stationed in Palestine demanded that they be allowed to affix their names to the petition.
