The American consulate in Shanghai is processing German-quota immigration cases at top speed and has issued 200 visas to Germanborn refugees during the last three weeks, the Joint Distribution Committee was informed today by cable from its office in Shanghai.
Charles Jordan, director of the Joint Distribution Committee in Shanghai, also cabled that the obstacles to granting U.S. transit visas to Jewish refugees in Shanghai holding entry visas to Latin-American countries have been eliminated. Practically all pending cases have been taken care of. The original difficulty was not the fault of the American consulate, Mr. Jordan reported.
