Delegates to the U.N. Trusteeship Council were today consulting their governments on the modified plan for the internationalization of Jerusalem presented by Roger Garreau, president of the Council. At the same time, they were eagerly awaiting news regarding the developments in the peace talks between Israel and Jordan.
The American and British delegations indicated today they hope that representatives from Israel and Jordan will be able to come to the U.N. meetings now taking place in Geneva with a report that their governments have reached an agreement among themselves and with a joint Israel-Jordan plan for the future of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, the U.N. Conciliation Commission considered today a report on the reunion of Arab refugees from Palestine with their families in Israel. The Commission established that progress in this program has greatly exceeded its expectations. As a result, it will be possible now to extend the range of the reunion to include additional categories in family units.
