The American delegation to the first international Conference of Christians and Jews, which is scheduled to open at Oxford on July 30, arrived here today aboard the Queen Mary.
The American delegates are headed by Dr. Henry N. MacCracken, president of Vassar College, and include Dr. Everett M. Clinchy, president of the National Conference of Christians and Jews. Dr. Clinchy said that the U.S. delegation hoped that the Oxford meeting will result in the formation of a World Council of Christians and Jews.
The British representatives at the conference will be headed by Lord Reading and Richard A Butler, former Minister of Labor. About 110 delegates from Britain, the United States, Australia, South America, France and other European countries are expected to attend.
