The production of liquid hydrogen got under way two weeks ago in research laboratories of the Israel Defense Ministry, a spokesman for the Ministry announced today. He said that the first 14 quarts of the liquefied gas had already been sent to the Hebrew University for research in a variety of physics problems.
Production of the liquid form of the lightest element was initiated with the aid of a machine obtained from the United States. Its use may have a profound effect on Israel’s economic development and possibly on its security.
