U.S. doctors overwhelmingly support removing Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube, according to a poll done by the Jewish Theological Seminary. The poll, from JTS’ Finkelstein Institute, which specializes in religion and public affairs, found that 79 percent of the doctors who responded believe it ethical to remove the feeding tube from the Florida woman who is in a persistent vegetative state and whose fate has ignited a welter of legal, political and medical maneuvering.
