Walworth Barbour, United States Ambassador to Israel, and Myer Feldman, White House aide to President Kennedy, conferred here this weekend with Israel’s topmost officials on various problems, including the Cuban crisis and the Arab refugees, Government spokesmen announced here today.
Mr. Barbour spent 20 minutes in a talk with Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, bringing Israel’s foreign affairs chief up to date on the development in the Cuban crisis.
Mr. Feldman, who is in Israel “on a private visit,” according to official interpretation, conferred first with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, then with Mrs. Meir. He discussed both the Cuban situation and the Arab refugee question which is scheduled to come to a head soon in a committee of the United Nations General Assembly.
Meanwhile, Mr. Feldman was the guest today of the Israel Air Force, witnessing special air maneuvers by some of Israel’s newest air squadrons.
