The Department of Commerce’s Office of International Trade today announced the designation of Israel in country group “0” with reference to U.S. export trade.
All U.S. exports to countries in group “0”, except those on a “positive list” of short supply items, can be shipped without export licenses. The “positive list” includes such items as wheat, other short supply grains, steel and steel products, coal, meats, fats and oils, other short metals and some chemicals.
Exporters to countries in another group, called group “R”, which includes the European countries, must secure export licenses for all commodities whether they are on the “positive list” or not.
