Kermit Roosevelt, pro-Arab advocate and anti-Zionist, is presently in Cairo on an official United States Government mission and is participating in talks with Egyptian leaders looking toward Egyptian participation in the proposed Middle East defense command, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned today.
It was established here that Mr. Roosevelt is not in Cairo as a representative of the State Department, but of “another branch of this government.” Since the end of World War II, Mr. Roosevelt has warmly advocated the Arab cause and has fought Zionist claims. He is associated with Dorothy Thompson, Lessing Rosenwald and others in the pro-Arab propaganda organization, HELP.
