Jacob Stein, president of the United Synagogue of America, has sharply refuted statements by Dr. Joachim Prinz criticizing the leadership of the American Jewish community as “visibly false” and “totally unfounded.” Stein referring to recent statements by Dr. Prinz, chairman of the Governing Council of the World Jewish Congress, that American Jewry is “driven into complete isolation from world problems and from Jewish problems of the world,” said this is “totally unfounded.”

Stein cited among several examples of American Jewry’s involvement his own group which has ongoing educational and informational programs for congregants. He also noted that between now and the next biennial convention of the USA in the fall of 1973 there will be four “conferences on Jewish living,” which will examine in detail the major problems on the American Jewish agenda.
