A resolution calling on Jewish educators to study the type of Jewish educational program which would be geared to the ‘teenager, was adopted here at the closing session of the 35th annual international convention of Aleph Zadik Aleph, boys’ division of the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.
Other resolutions dealt with general educational problems and means of improving the intellectual climate among youth. The 170 delegates from the United States, Canada and Britain elected Stephen Blank, 19-year-old Dartmouth College sophomore, president.
Earlier, Robert R. Nathan, economist, told the convention that American guarantees of the integrity and independence of Israel were a necessary part of a constructive United States program of action in the Middle East. Mr. Nathan, co-author of the 1946 report “Palestine: Problem and Promise,” also suggested a major step-up in American material and technical assistance for rapid economic development among all Middle East nations, including those who remain neutral in the East-West struggle.
