U.S. Jews are donating money to increase security at two synagogues in the former Soviet Union. The money from the Chicago affiliate of the Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union will help a synagogue in Nikolaev, Ukraine, and Pinsk, Belarus, buy security systems. The synagogue in Nikolaev has been attacked six times in the past six years.
