Professor Selman Waksman, noted Jewish scientist and Nobel Prize winner, accepted the honorary chairmanship of the Association to Perpetuate the Memory of Ukrainian Jews, it was announced today. Dr. Waksman was born in Kiev, the Ukraine, and came to the United States in 1910. The Association will soon publish the first 400-page volume on the history of the Jews in the Ukraine in memory of the hundreds of thousands of Jews who were annihilated there during the Nazi occupation.
