U.S. lawmakers on Friday reintroduced a bill that would hold Syria accountable for its support of terrorism. The Syria Accountability Act, sponsored by Reps. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Ileana Ros- Lehtinen (R-Fla.), would give the president tools to penalize Syria if it continues to harbor terrorist organizations. The Senate is expected to introduce a companion bill, sponsored by Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rick Santorum (R-Penn.).
