U.S. media coverage of religion doubled during the 1990s, according to a new poll. Most of the coverage focused on the role of religion in public policy and not on theology or spirituality, according to the poll conducted by the Washington-based Center for Media and Public Affairs. Protestantism and Catholicism accounted for almost two-thirds of all coverage, while 12 percent of the stories focused on Judaism.
