U.S. Middle East envoy Dennis Ross said he is going to Israel this week to “finalize” American ideas to revive dormant Israel-Palestinian peace talks. But speaking to delegates at the Young Leadership Conference of the United Jewish Appeal in Washington, he stressed that there is not going to be any imposed solution. His remarks came as an aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had “no desire for confrontation” with the United States. David Bar-Illan made the comment after the Israeli Cabinet rejected a reported American proposal for Israel to redeploy in stages from 13 percent of the West Bank.
