“No one among the United Nations can overestimate the degree to which their Jewish citizens or subjects have dedicated themselves to all-out effort in prosecution of the war, whether it be in fighting forces or in the administrative sphere or in aiding government finances, “Pierrepont Moffate, United States Minister to Canada, stated here last night. Addressing thousands of Jews gathered at a mass meeting to express indignation at Nazi atrocities against Jews in occupied countries, Mr. Moffat emphasized that it has become a tradition in North America to protest against all forms of persecution.

Echoing Mr. Moffat’s sentiments, Norman clarity, Canadian Secretary of State, stressed that Hitler is the greatest menace the human race has known in recorded history. Messages were received from the representatives of Belgium, Brazil, China, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Holland, Poland, Yugoslavia and Premier Mackenzie King of Canada.

The gathering adopted a resolution expressing satisfaction that the United Nations have raised their voices in protest against the Nazi atrocities and have warned the enemy that retaliation will follow an Allied victory. The resolution also sent a message of hope to the Jews in the ghettos, saluted “our heroic brethren” in the underground movement, the valiant Russian armies and guerrillas, and promised unfaltering support to Jews in Palestine. Samuel Bronfman, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, president.
