Abba Schwartz, head of the U.S. State Department Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs, thanked today American Jewish voluntary immigration agencies for their support in helping to bring about adoption of the new United States immigration law. He spoke at the 1965 biennial General Conference of the International Council of Voluntary Agencies which will end here tomorrow. Charles H. Jordan, director general of the Joint Distribution Committee, is president of the Conference.
