The Rabbinical Council of America, an organization of Orthodox rabbis, today concluded its three-day convention here with a plea to the Christian clergy in the United States to extend moral support to Israel and with adoption of a resolution calling upon the entire American Orthodox rabbinate to take steps to exclude the American Council of Judaism from Jewish life. The plea to the Christian clergy was voiced by Rabbi Solomon Sharfman of New York following his election as president of the Rabbinical Council.
“The shocking conduct of the American Council of Judaism and its members in seeking question the loyalty of the vast majority of American Jews who support Israel and the Council’s open association with the enemies of Israel in the Arab countries, as well as in the U.S., is an act of religious treason to our faith, consequently, they should be placed outside the house of Israel.
