The policy of the United States in approving the British shipment of arms to the Arab countries is being looked upon by Arab statesmen as an indication that the government of the United States is not too anxious to see peace concluded between the Arab countries and Israel, Jeseph Gravitsky, senior Israel Government press official, said at a press conference here today.

Mr. Gravitsky, who has just arrived in this country, emphasized that Israel has been seeking peace with the Arab countries for many months. He reviewed the various attempts which have been made by the Israel Government in this direction. Speaking on the internal situation in the Jewish state, he expressed the belief that although the Mapam has recontly rejected an offer to enter a widened coalition cabinet, the possibility has not been excluded that negotiations between the Mapam and the Mapai may eventually be reopened.
